Logitech Transporter Upgraded

Hi, David,

I am thrilled with the sound of the upgraded Transporter.  There is a night and day difference between my previous setup LogiTech Squeezebox into the previously upgraded Theta DAC.
The soundstage is huge—wider than I have heard on any device.  Listening to choral music sung in churches, the decay is wonderful, and the sense of ambience provided by low-level cues is great. Violin music also has the sense of wood and reverberant space, and the highs are filled with music rather than being screechy or thin.

Even better, I downloaded some 96/24 music from Chesky’s site, HDTracs.com, and the sound quality is even more amazing.  Harry “Big Daddy” Hypolite singing “Big Bad Girl” sounded as if he were in the room with me, with the gruffness of his voice seeming natural and immediate. This upgraded Transporter gives me the full benefit of this higher resolution music, and I will be exploring hi-res downloads from other sources as well.

I am still playing music all night with the preamplifier volume set to 0 at night.   I know that it is still breaking in.  The sound has gotten smoother and more accurate as break-in has gone on.
