"To Upgrade -or- not to Upgrade, there is no Question"

"Own the very best!"

Stock high-end audio gear still leaves a lot to be desired.
Even ultra high end models simply fail to come close sonically to the same model which has been upgraded.

THE UPGRADE COMPANY

Welcome to The Upgrade Company where we have over 26 years of experience maximizing the performance of high-end audio and video for music and film lovers world-wide who demand the finest. The level of sheer clarity, musicality, and enjoyment we provide our customers exceeds the bland off-the-shelf performance from prestigious “cost-is no-object” manufacturers.

THE BUCK STOPS HERE

Why spend your hard earned money on a new model that'll only be incrementally better when you get it home?

Our real customer testimonials speak volumes of what we have to offer you.  Don't fall for the big magazine hype "Class A Rated", "Editor's Choice", etc.  Lots of "reviewers" have rooms full of free gear & cabling from leading manufacturers. Trust your own ears.  The Upgrade Company provides better sound for you then stock factory models.  Manufacturer's are profiteering off consumers all the time.

Former top of the line models, even going back 5 years,  once upgraded by The Upgrade Company, easily surpass present-day Class A rated models touted in magazines.  This is simply because high-end audio manufacturers still cannot remain profitable using the highest-technology and highest performing electronic parts throughout their models due to cost, supply, and time to manufacture constraints.   They're getting cheaper and cheaper all the time inside.

Why continue spending thousands of dollars at the stores for extremely minor incremental improvements? The Upgrade Company can expertly upgrade your existing electronics to outperform current top of the line models costing tens of thousands of dollars more.

Why not have your existing CD player, preamp or amplifier or dac upgraded instead for a HUGE leap in performance that will satisfy you for decades to come?

There is massive untapped potential in all high-end audio components.

Our customers are cured of their constant craving for the latest new gear because it no longer compares with their Upgrade Company upgraded unit.

High-end electronic manufacturers, regardless of prestige or retail cost, use cost-cutting techniques in order to maintain their profitability in this shrinking high-end audio/video marketplace. Top of the line models costing upwards of $10,000 still contain many of the same capacitors that cheap tabletop radio's use.  It is sad but increasingly true.  You'd be shocked to learn that some $10,000+ preamplifiers contains 10 cent surface mount power supply capacitors.  The finest power supply capacitors available today for example are too expensive for manufacturers to profit from.   This kills their performance.

The Upgrade Company's "house sound" has been time-tested and judged by over one thousand high-end audio consumers to be "State of the Art".   We simply provide the type of sound listeners prefer over stock top of the line models.  Our clients become satisfied and happy with the sound we provide them.  Don't fall for the hype you read in magazines. You're wasting your money on the latest models, they're all under performers and built to a price point.

One cannot achieve State of the Art performance from the latest models which are built to a price point to profit off of us.

The Upgrade Company has pioneered several advances that are "Trade Secret".  Our upgrades are not just "parts swapping".  Each upgrade is the result of advanced research, testing and science.  Every Signature Edition upgrade we perform.  No "modifier" who cuts, hacks and glues approaches the results The Upgrade Company provides.  There is no need to re-engineer any model.  Outfits that attempt to "re-engineer the unit" through leaving off parts,  gluing in "clock" boards and  cutting of circuit traces to install vacuum tubes have a history for reliability and substandard results.

The Signature Edition upgrade impresses immediately:  Excellent pace, rhythm and timing, superb fine detail, lots of presence, impressive dynamics, extended tight bass with spot-on weight and "slam", extended finely detailed highs and gorgeous mids.  Nothing "Hi-Fi" or "Digital" about the sound at all, simply gorgeous unexaggerated naturalness:  the music itself.

Our customers have commented after the break-in period has been completed: "the sound is now very lucid and incisive, without being thrust forward at you", "music sounds sharp & focused, yet at the same time wonderfully refined and relaxed, with excellent weight and air." "Very fluid."  "I finally sold all my LP's!"

Our Signature Edition upgrade utilizes the very latest and highest quality electronic parts from around the world, which are always custom chosen, measured, and matched, for each specific model being upgraded.

Each circuit board is thoroughly cleaned and triple checked before it is re-installed. Each model is carefully reassembled and fully tested to spec and burned in for 24 hours or more before it is returned to the customer.  Typically our turn-around time is 1-2 weeks.   Each upgrade comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty on our work and a 7 Day In-Home Back Guarantee.

The Upgrade Company's approach to maximizing everything inside affords former high-end models now available on the used market BETTER performance then the latest "Class A rated" models!  We guarantee it.

The potential of your system starts with the source and clean stable electricity, free of radio frequency band and electromagnetic contamination.  Dedicated lines do nothing at all to eliminate radio frequency contamination entering your high-end gear.  Our listening rooms are all full of radio frequency contamination given off from cell phones, pagers, cordless home phones, digital alarm clocks, anything that is digital, wireless computers and their routers, radio and TV broadcasts.  The RFI contamination they silently give off contaminates your system and robs it of it's full potential.  A good line conditioner, isolation transformer and specially shielded cables are necessary to achieve State of the Art performance on top of our Signature Edition upgrade for each of the components comprising your system.

Be aware that expecting a new preamp or amplifier to dramatically improve upon sound quality they are not receiving from the source is simply not possible and highly illogical.  The signal to noise ratio and level of resolution are both dictated by the source component.

We highly recommend purchasing directly from Upgrade Company a brand new Factory Authorized Esoteric Digital source component that has been upgraded with the Signature Edition upgrade.  It's the first step toward achieving a State of the Art live sounding Hi-Fi system.  Worldwide sales inquiries are invited.

Take this opportunity to discover what a TRUE State of the Art source component sounds like in your system, complete with a 7 Day In-Home Money Back Guarantee.

The Upgrade Company tests new top of the line models and performs double-blind multiple participant A-B test sessions to be sure that our claims of "State of the Art" are up to date

A FEW NOTES ABOUT "MODIFYING" YOUR CD PLAYER YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF:

Several modification firms and manufacturers have been pushing consumers to add-on aftermarket "superclocks" and "masterclocks" to make money.  These "clocks" have been scientifically proven to be a total waste of money and a very bad idea.  The final jitter performance goes to hell in a hand basket.  Measurably.

Here's why:

"SuperClocks" and "Master Clocks" HURT sonic performance due to Vibration and RFI/EMI induced distortions!

Some CD & DVD player modification companies have convinced their customers to install an aftermarket "clock" to enhance the sound of CD & DVD players. They claim the "jitter" will be lower, resulting in enhanced sonic performance.  That claim is false.  Sure the parts per million accuracy of the timing element deep inside the clock circuit is more accurate in terms of parts per million error.  That part is true.

However, what these "clock" proponents fail to realize and fail to measure, is that the actual final parts per million error rate by the time the wiring reaches the circuits being "clocked", goes HIGHER.  Especially when the player is subject to vibration from the spinning CD/DVD disc and vibration from the speakers. The unsupported and unshielded wiring strung all over the place causes jitter to become measurably increased

Subject the player to everyday typical vibration and the sound quality goes to hell in a hand basket.

In addition to the detrimental affects of vibration induced distortions, there are serious sonic degradations caused by RFI and EMI contamination, again in the wiring of these "superclocks" and "master clocks".

MEASURED jitter goes WAY UP with the cobbled on internal "clock".  Listening and measurement test confirm: these "superclocks" should be removed, and their practice stopped.   There are better solutions.

Internal "Superclocks" are typically installed by aftermarket "Mod" firms with hotglue. All of these clocks
require that new wires be strung around inside of the player to/from the circuit board and to/from a power supply somewhere in the player.  This is a big problem. In outboard "Master" clocks, interconnects must be strung to and from the existing player.  Big problem.

In either case, the wires or interconnects are always unsupported, loose, prone to vibration, and higher in resistance, inductance and capacitance, unlike a circuit trace that is extremely short, low on capacitance, resistance and inductance, typically shielded on at least 1 side, and not prone to vibration.

The unshielded & unsupported wiring needed to install a "superclock" actually creates a TON of jitter once the speakers and CD vibrate the chassis of the player.  The jitter goes through the roof from vibration.  It's these vibrations that are transferred to the "clock" wires that set them in motion, actually generating a small electrical charge through the phenomenon of "microphonics".  These actions combined significantly degrade delicate timing and data-stream integrity.
The degradation is measurable

For many years The Upgrade Company has tried to get these add-on "clocks" to work as advertised, yet the measured jitter performance has always been worse over upgrading the stock clock which has literally no wiring or additional parts to collect EMI, RFI, nor vibration.

The sound in the worst cases becomes very congested and harsh:  Turn up the speakers and the sound gets worse. This phenomenon of vibration-induced jitter degradation also applies to outboard "Master Clocks."  These expensive outboard "Master Clocks" often do more harm then good, MEASURABLY.

$13,000 Esoteric G-0S Master Clock customer comments:

"I owned an Esoteric UX-1 and later added their G-0S Master Clock, the first one in the US actually,
several years ago.  The G-Os was always a controversial addition for me.  At first I
thought it was a benefit, but over time I decided that it made the sound un-natural.
The benefit, if any, was subtle and many would argue that it was not really better
sounding.  So I agree with Dave, don't bother with it.

Thanks,
